MeadowMist DP Ruby Frost

Ruby Frost is yet another example of what a good brood doe is her dam MeadowMist IV Mix Up 1*M.  Although Mix Up is only 4, Ruby Frost is the 4th doe (and also one buck)that we have retained from Mix Up. I know I said we would not retain any does from Mix Up in 2024 but then along comes miss Ruby Frost. Ruby is a full sister to MeadowMist DP Lil Legend and MeadowMist DP Captain Hook. She has a bit more substance than older sister Legend.

Ruby has a sparkling personality and is always eager to join in the activities that she is subjected to. Hadley has believed in Ruby more than I did and looks like she knows her goats well. Hadley showed Ruby to a first place intermediate kid in one ring at the 2024 Mitten Madness show. The Hadley/Ruby team started the 2025 show season with a top 10 finish in both rings at the Heart of Indiana show in early May. There were 36 yearlings entered in the class, to have been noticed enough to make the cut is very significant. It is always nice to earn a dry leg with a doeling but with the current class size and level of competition I am happy to receive a top 10 placing with any of our kids. Ruby placed in the top 10 at 3 other shows in 2025. She is a very pretty and elegant doe but is significantly smaller than some of the other yearlings.

Hadley is looking forward to showing Ruby in the 2 year old classes in 2026. Ruby is being bred to Winning Streak CM MarkofCarbon for her first freshening, hopefully in March of 2026.
